Summary
To meet the project requirements, the design needed to deliver high vertical illuminance on trucks without introducing glare for drivers. The target performance was:
- 40 lx average across the horizontal working area
- ≥ 5 lx minimum (preferred: 10 lx)
- 20 lx minimum vertical illuminance on the driver's side of trucks
With limited mounting options, the solution used a three‑row arrangement of 25 m mid‑hinged poles from G&S Industries, each equipped with a 3‑way 120° luminaire layout using the LEDTEC KFS1200EWBX110°Y55° asymmetrical floodlight.
The 1200 W luminaire option delivered a maximum glare rating of 36.7 GR (below the CIE outdoor workplace limit of 45 GR), ensuring comfort, safety, and compliance with AS4282 Obtrusive Light – UWLR requirements.
